EY Investment Banking division

Does anybody have any insight on Ernst & Young Capital Advisors LLC? They label it as their Investment Banking arm. Seems like they specialize in sectors like industrials, tech, energy, etc.  I couldn't find much information regarding exit opps to PE online or on this platform so if anybody has insights please chip in

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Ernst & Young Capital Advisors LLC (EY's Investment Banking arm) is not traditionally viewed as a top-tier investment banking platform compared to bulge brackets or elite boutiques. However, it does have a presence in sectors like industrials, tech, and energy, as you mentioned.

When it comes to exit opportunities to Private Equity (PE), transitioning from EY's Investment Banking division to PE may be more challenging compared to exits from top-tier investment banks. PE firms often prioritize candidates from well-known IB groups with strong deal flow and rigorous training programs. That said, exits are still possible, especially if you can leverage your sector expertise, network effectively, and demonstrate strong technical and deal experience.

If you're targeting PE, it might be worth considering how EY's platform aligns with your long-term goals and whether you can position yourself for a lateral move to a more traditional IB platform before making the jump to PE.
