Feeling lost and dejected - IB SA 26 recruiting

Currently at nyu (econ, not in stern) and struggling recruiting wise. Applied to all BBs last month and some EBs, ended up having a SD last week but got cut in the last round. Not sure what to do considering I haven't heard back from any other banks yet. Any advice on where to go from here? Is networking and cold emailing even worth it for banks i've already applied to?

network & cold-email yes. regional boutiques & weaker MMs still running. GRIND for them, get a return, grind again to rerecruit FT and move on — it’ll pay dividends compared to alternatives. if things don’t work out u can extend grad / take non finance SA and try to rerecruit but there are drawbacks with each of these paths (extensive threads) so leave it as a last resort and really grind to get SOMETHING. junior sa shouldn’t set the direction of your career but it’s much easier to lateral with something than nothing

should I still try to cold email/network with BBs given that my soph year recruiting isn't over yet, or would that be just a waste of time?

not super plugged in — from what ik from underclassmen at my school in my club, i think barclays, ubs, jpm still running? check WSO but doesn’t hurt to email and most likely if an alum responds it’s possible. but definitely think it’s mostly mms still running, some schools have diff timelines so ask ppl at ur school
