First year transfer student messed up..need guidance
I recently transferred from the University of Arizona to NYU Stern and kind of fucked up my GPA my first semester there. I had a 3.9 at UofA but got put in some bad electives my first semester at NYU, finishing first semester with under a 3.0. I have previous banking internships at a boutique and no idea what I should do from here, or if I fucked up my chances at banking. I know there's still the option for full time recruiting, but will banks even give me a shot with this bad semester on my resume? I could attribute it to tacking on a double major in Math but would that salvage it? I'm open to any advice you can give me. Thanks guys.
I could also potentially pick up another boutique banking internship during the semester, but that would really only help me for full time recruiting. Not sure if there is any hope for my junior summer which recruiting has already/in the process of starting for this summer.
And extending graduation is not an option. I'm already 23, behind because I decided college wasn't the right move first time around and don't know what I was thinking then.
What year are you in school? If it's sophomore year, it shouldn't be a huge deal. Just work hard and the GPA can easily be pulled up.
