Foreign language test results on IB resume
Hi monkeys, this might be a silly question, but I decided to ask this. I've seen on this forum and other sources that I-bankers love seeing/hearing stories of applicants having to carry out many things at once (ex. doing part-time job while getting straight As from 5,6 classes a semester). I was wondering if I should put my foreign language tests I've passed during my service in the Army (not of US, I'm an international student). Say, I've self-studied the languages in my short downtime after long hours of duties, and passed HSK(Chinese) level 6, and JLPT (Japanese) N1 exams with limited foundations on them. What would be the best way to tell this story on resume? Or should I not bother bringing this up at all? I'd very appreciate your advice!
Any language capabilities should be on your resume, there are either the official ratings (like the ones you mentioned) or some prefer to just say "native/fluent/basic/.." .
I am not sure whether you should or could mention how you achieved these skills though, we all face challenges in our lives and people have goals. The way they achieve these goals would be different for every single person. If you can find a cohesive story that works on a resume, could you please share it with us? Thanks.
To add to this, if you want to quantify it with international test levels (so, A1 to C2) put that next to the language e.g. Spanish (fluent - C2).
