Freshmen rejected from school managed fund
Hello all, I am a first semester freshmen at a non-target school with a lot of kids trying to get into banking, and solid alumni network. My goal is to get into banking at a top BB. I applied to the student managed fund (which sends a ton of kids to IB roles). I got rejected and do not know what my next step is. I am on track to have a high GPA but don't know what my next step is after the rejection. Any advice on how maximize my freshmen year to get on this path. Thanks again and any advice helps

Stay in touch with kids you know who got in. Get to know the leaders of the group. Reapply next semester. This happens to lots of people and they get in the second or third try. Be relaxed about it to as they'll want to include people they want to hang out with. Just like the workforce.
Not a big deal, just focus on your development. You see lots of people on the school fund land good offers, but that's because they are already the strongest candidates-- the fund doesn't add that much value. I remember my freshman year, I didn't get into the top fund on campus (didn't bother to re-apply). Many of the kinds at the fund struck out during recruiting or ended up at no-name/MM shops, while landed a BB offer.
Don't get caught up too much on what everyone else is doing. Carve your own path and do what interests you. As long as you maintain strong grades and network hard (very important since you're at a non-target), you'll end up in a good place.
Thanks for the response, Will try to do my best not get discouraged
