The IB lateral market is extremely tough at the moment especially for analysts. There might be ~3 actual openings in total across the top BB/EBs at the analyst level at this moment, and they are each likely getting tens of thousands of applicants, many of whom were previously laid off. You must be a top top candidate to even have a chance of lateralling, and must have extremely strong technicals / interview skills. I'm a top bucket analyst from a UBS/Barclays tier bank and haven't gotten any traction with IB lateral recruiting over the past 6 months.
