FT Partners Interview
Got an interview for FT Partners - New York. It's two 30-45 min zooms back to back which I thought was a little weird for a first round. Does anyone have advice about what it will mostly entail?

is this for a 2021 Summer Analyst role?
Yes
Stay away if possible, had an offer for summer analyst and the culture (associate and above) is atrocious. An alumni who was at the firm then literally told me to not take the offer. That being said, there's tons of camaraderie among the analyst class
Yes, have only spoken to analysts and they’ve been so helpful and encouraging
One of my friends got asked about fama French, so I’m guessing it is quite technical.
I would honestly take big 4 over this. They were my only offer last year and I was sweating till a lower BB came through (FT recruiting). I go to a semi-target and my professor reiterated everything that’s been said about this place. Absolute last resort.
What did you hear about it??? Damn lot of hate for them here
Sweaty
Very technical interviews. Know your multistep accounting scenarios, valuation (esp. unlevering and levering Beta questions), and DCF / EV/equity value very well.
This is very technical lol?
In terms of being hard on the details, yes, their interviews are very technical in this way. Are they going to ask intern candidates ridiculously advanced LBO and M&A accretion/dilution questions? No. But if OP isn't incredibly sharp on the questions that are easy to look over then they will get dinged.
Fuck. I did not receive an interview.
Ask Richard.3
One of my friends got dinged at the super day because he didn’t know how to walk through the fama French three factor model...so yeah pretty technical
tf is that
basically shows that investors need to be able to get past short periods of higher than normal volatility and underperformance for the sake of holding it out long term. (side note, if you ever dont know something on this site, check out investopedia :)
Hey man, I can definitely help you out. PM me.
I may be late to this, but I have an interview for them on Weds. Any chance I can shoot you a Pm?
Unless you have a hard-on for fintech, stay away as others have said. Culture is absolutely toxic despite what analysts try to paint. Remember, the analysts willing to take your networking calls are the ones that are die-hard supporters of the firm. If you really want a complete image, try to connect with former employees and hear their thoughts.
It seems like they are definitely trying to improve their culture. Comps are looking like $280k all in after their $40k raise. Literally insane…
