FTI Exit Ops

I am currently a consultant at FTI/A&M (before I worked in RX IB at either Laz/Moelis and hated it) - no interest in HF/PE or going back to the sell-side. What are some interesting exit opportunities you'd envision for someone of my background?

I'm referring to operations improvement efforts within the portfolio companies of a PE shop. The Big 3 RX Consulting firms work with a ton of PE shops and their holdings. I would think if you get good experience working on the debtor side (restructuring or process improvement), you might be able to snag a position with a PE shop and help run their underlying portfolio companies. In lots of cases, these shops become interim leaders of the distressed company (CEO, CFO, CMO, etc.) Successful turnaround experience would be really interesting to a PE shop as those represent big wins.

you could look into roles at firms that conduct the actual asset valuations/liquidations of companies going through the bankruptcy process. I'm sure you're familiar with the big players. For pure corporate jobs, I'd assume most doors would be open and it's just dependent on where your interests lie and your story. I keep thinking of things credit related based on your RX background and Square Capital comes to mind. It's their vertical that provides small business loans to Square merchants
