Full Time Recruitment During Internship

Entering a small investment bank for a summer internship and looking to potentially lateral for full-time. Full-time recruitment likely happens around July/August. Just wondering if you guys have any advice on how to get away with going on coffee chats during your internship. The bank also has a casual dress code so you sort of stand out if you show up in a suit.

I was thinking of maybe storing a suit at my friend's office and changing before a coffee chat but the question still remains on how I'm going to justify leaving for a 30-minute "coffee break".

Any advice is appreciated!

I think you can do 5 things:
1.)Ask to meet with your contacts for coffee before you get into the office
2.)Mention to your boss that you are networking with some alums from your school. Your boss should be pretty understanding.
3.)Try to meet for coffee during lunch break.
4.)Network now and build up your network for full-time recruiting and then just try to meet them for dinner or drinks.
5.)Set up informational interviews in the late afternoon once things slow down.

Most importantly, work very hard and be very attentive to detail. You need to build up a good reputation to secure a FT offer from your boutique. In every full-time interview you are asked whether you have received a FT offer from your summer stint or not.
