You sweet naive soul for believing recruiting is that structured
Just did the interview:
I cant remember all of them, but pretty standard:
1) Why GS 2) Why Banking 3) Why is a liquidation model relevant during markets right now? 4) Are you a leader or a team member and why? 5) What are markets doing right now?
THANK U - when I do it ill post the questions as well
6 questions 2 min each Resume walkthrough Situational judgement (2 questions) -moral -integrating new teammate Recent deal walkthrough Questions about after hours Question about ur work ethic
Ur welcome!
Hey! Hope you are doing amazing! I was just wondering if you could be so kind to tell me the GS NY IBD questions for Summer Analyst 2021. I would really appreciate it! Happy to help in any way that I can too :)
jesus christ dude
is super target HW?
.
it isnt over until you get a rejection. Get in referrals and have people bat for you to get your app moving...
I still haven't been officially rejected for the SA2020 class...
dude.... the invitation email literally and explicitly says 11:59pm on Sunday... lmao what insight...
JUST TALKED TO HCM: (NYC IBD) -if you havent gotten one yet, latest u get one could be late July so dont sweat it -Chances of getting superday from hirevue will be harder than getting the hirevue so make sure u ‘pop’ -mostly behavioral Qs
12th*. Not tryna be a dick I am OCD
guys just chill out and do the hirevue for yourselves lol
people pushing for answers are the same people who'll prolly get cut. I'm sorry but if you're freaking the fuck out over a hirevue you literally do not stand a chance.

Wbu?
Whatever here are the questions they'll come out anyways:
1) why IBD
2) tell me about a passion
3) are you a team leader or a team member
4) what are the markets doing right now?
5) why would a liquidation model be relevant right now?
6) why GS
7) walk me through a time you persisted through a challenge
Nope. this aint it
UPDATED QUESTIONS NYC IBD: 1) walk me through a glizzy gobbler 2) whats the algorithm for the FYP 3) is david solomon packing?
can confirm
not gonna lie shit was kinda hard...not gonna confirm they questions on here but they ARE typical behavioral questions. Don’t waste your time studying technicals, know what the market headlines are. Good luck boys.
appreciate it. and girls!
And everything in between!
it was like being thrown into a tornadoe. questions here are a joke compared to real ones. couldn't have been less accurate. I will say, best advice is to be confident and not be thrown off. They know you wil be, and want to see how you react
Facts. There are no one step questions on the HV. They're pretty detailed questions that force you to cover a lot of ground. Practicing multi-step behaviorals is the real hint I can give everybody on here. All the questions are fake on this site. Stop wasting time because no one wants to help you and give you an advantage. They make them hard ass questions and give you one try for a reason. It's a test of your true conversation skills. If you were in the superday, it's not like you can just click re-try.
I got 5 behavioral and 3 division specific Q's. Took about 35 min to complete everything.
are division specific Qs technical or more so market based?
I applied to IBD, Treasury, S&T. The questions for IBD was asking about an investment banking transaction that interested me. The situational questions were pretty difficult. Caught me off guard, but doable at the same time.
Just finished mine. Had 6 questions: 1st was "Walk me through your resume", 2-5 were pretty generic behaviorals, 6th was "Tell me about a transaction that you've been following recently". Seems to me like questions vary greatly from candidate to candidate. I'm guessing that questions for target/ semi-target schools are chosen by GS alumni from the school. Others that aren't target/ semi-target likely have standard set of questions from HR.
Hi would appreciate some insight. If let's say the time given is 2:00 to respond and I wrap at 1:40 is there any way I can stop recording, move on basically does not taking up the full time look like a negative ?
Wondering about second half of Q .. does it have any adverse impact?
Brevity is never a bad thing. Quite the opposite - if you could adequately answer in 30 seconds then that would probably make you stand out in a great way.
The questions are usually the same across the board. That's how they compare responses. Most questions on here are fake because people want to mislead others. Why would anyone want to tell people the questions when you literally only get 1 try? Who would want to help someone achieve perfection on these tricky questions when they didn't get that advantage? Don't believe anything you see on here
WTFF.... Did they ask you guys to whip out your dick at the end too?
This thread is absolutely hilarious. We've got one kid posting the same reply 30 times begging for questions, others posting misleading questions, and others confirming those same misleading questions...
If you can't make it through a Hirevue on your own, what makes you think you'll crush the superday and walk away with an offer?
This "fake it till I make it" attitude will get you nowhere in this process.
I was killing the Hirevue then I got finished with the:
"Stand up"
just did my HV. want to give some tips. The HV questions posted earlier on this thread are actually correct for most questions. I practiced them and are really helpful. Thank you for those nice ppl and that is why I's share some tips. 1. response time is actually 2min. the longest is 2.2. For IBD, 6 questions. You have 40 seconds to think. 2. be ready to answer questions with sub-questions. I got 4 questions with long prompt and with 2-3 sub questions I need to cover. But NOT hard! So relax. Guarentee you these are great questions which show Goldman really wants to know you as a person. Time is definitely enough so don't worry. 3. These long questions are like a mix-up of individual teamwork/moral questions. So if you practice small individual questions before, you will be fine. Again, no technicals, so relax. 4. For IBD candidate, you can expect one typical IBD questions. I will not tell you which one, but if you prepare the most common 3 IBD questions, you will be great. And last, chill, relax, and remember to smile. The point of hirevue is to get to know you as a person. Good luck everyone!
7 questions 2 min each Resume walkthrough Situational judgement (2 questions) -moral -integrating new teammate Recent deal walkthrough Questions about your hobbies Question about your work ethic Question about your fav wso thread
After doing the HV, nothing brings me as much joy as going through these responses
Questions in order:
1) Why Goldman Sachs?
2) talk about about a time you had to deal with a bad teammate.
3-5) situational
1 questioning how you follow authority and if you would listen or act against a questionable command.
1 questioning your ability to think on the spot given new work at the end of a long day.
1 asking between option A and B of turning in a classmate that did no work on a project or letting them go.
6) What are the markets doing right now?
Good luck!

That really wasn't anything too crazy. They gave more than enough time to adequately respond to each question. Hopefully we all get to the next round! Except all the snakes on here!

Anyone know what % of these % are absolute bullshit?
how would we know?
My school's alumni (target), are extending super day offers by the end of this week. I imagine if you just dropped your resume in the general process, it could be longer than that. Best thing to do is to ask your contacts within Goldman for an update.
Judging by your username, I'm assuming you're a Penn/Wharton kid?
