I don't understand why everyone has such a dim view on research. Post spitzer things have changed, but its still a lucrative/exciting area.

To the OP the answer to your question is dependent on what your goals are post internship. Your question is vague.

 

If you want to do research, you can also do it at START. Lehman's research is top-notch, better historically than Goldman's, but unlike GIR you'll have the opportunity to meet traders as well. In terms of keeping options open, START is a better bet. Donno how difficult it would be to get into I-banking, it depends on how good u can tailor your story.
