if you want investing, don't do consulting or HBS. Get into it straight or after 2 years IB and no more. big difference between PE and HF, you'll have time to decide though
I think you should apply everywhere and then talk about options if/when you get offers- these are not places you will walk in to and should expect to receive offers at, unless there is something exceptional about your application that I'm obviously unaware of.
That's like me posting on a ferrari forum, asking what car I should get in 10 years. First have the ability to afford it, then open yourself to options.
I hear you're an investment banker at Brewster Keegan.
Uh, this is actually a two-part question. I'm applying for a summer internship at Brewster Keegan, and I was wondering a) what it's like being an investment banker and b) if you would write me recommendation.
wow... if you're asking such questions you're definitely not in contention for any of these jobs. but to answer the question, most people would agree that pound for pound, Blackstone has the best exit opportunities out of them all
Ouch. I was hoping I didnt have to brag about my background to be taken seriously.
But if it helps... Oxbridge education, MBBinternships and a few other things.
I am rather new to finance, so sorry if those questions are too basic for some.
BX I can evaluate from a US perspective, but don't know how the UK office compares with this.
Sankaty does not provide that much info, so I hope the questions are valid.

this is like saying all Harvard kids go to MS/GS/BX.
Who gives a flying fuck if you went to Oxbridge. Seems hilarious you think you can brag about that, LOL!

Hey,
I am currently applying for the above internships and would like to request some help prioritizing.

Prioritize being less of a tool. You have to understand that people get tired of all of these threads asking about choosing between numerous top firms without offers.

Oxbridge is helpful but by no means a guarantee...
