How do i crack IB with 2.4 GPA
I want to break into Sales/Trading or IB. I have 4 years of experience as an Operations guy. I am preparing for CFA Level 1 and plan to complete the CFA by the End of 2025. What would you suggest me to do to maximize my chances. I am also planning to do a masters in Fintech from Non-Target score some decent GPA and the plan for a target MBA. The problem is i am 26 years old and all this seems to be so much. Please help!!!!
if you have 5 years work experience take ur gpa off ur resume??
You are all over the place dude. Masters and CFA will not help at all at this stage - masters is best for a fifth year "extra season" for recruiting immediately out of undergrad, CFA takes years and has zero relevance to IB.
Normally the path from ops is to lateral to middle office (credit risk is good) and then hop over from there. The challenge is you are already ASO/senior ASO level so I think that would be difficult
I would pay for a consultation with an MBA advisor and see if they think you could crack top 15 or top 25 MBA. If you can kill the GMAT you might be able to. It won't be H/S/W but I think with a stellar GMAT you might get there. You are far enough out of college and they love a redemption arc
MBA not useful unless you attend a top 5 school for it. I don't think you realize how rare it is for a IB position to be available.
wtf are you talking about? Cornell places lots of MBAs in banking and not even sure if they're top 10 (still very solid obv)
