How fast to produce these deliverables?

I haven't been an analyst for awhile. How fast are you expected to produce these deliverables at your group? Assume you have all the client info you need:

- Teaser

- 50 contact buyer log with email addresses

- 3 statement model + DCF

- CIM

Curious about different expectations across groups.

If you’re making a CIM and model in 2 weeks both are gonna suck. If it’s a 60+ page CIM, and you’re iterating with comments from a VP, MD, and client, it’ll be closer to a month unless no one is giving feedback (in which case it will suck).

Same on model - an analyst can easily bang out a 90% done model pretty quickly (probably a week), but fine tuning the outputs and getting buy in from both internal deal time and client always takes longer.

In due diligence consulting not IB, but in practice transaction processes involve more than just your client, so a procrastinating client does screw things up for you. Plus if they send you stuff like 30h before you need to get things out welp there's an all-nighter right there, entirely avoidable if only your client was on the ball.

Also, your managers will be pushing you to get things done, and there's only so many times you can explain you're waiting on the client for everything outstanding before they start blaming you for not managing the client better, and/or make you do meaningless busywork to fill in the gaps that becomes obsolete as soon as your client actually sends you the stuff you're waiting for, though it won't stop them from inspecting your busywork with a fine-toothed comb or making you stay late to adjust formatting and graphics. This may depend on how toxic your group is granted.
