How good is Tufts for IBD? Semi?

For some reason, for a university with an average SAT of 1520 and sub-10% acceptance rate, no one seems to talk about it... some people say "oh, Jamie Dimon" others say "you're comepting against Harvard/MIT (no shit)," so where does Tufts lie for IB? Is it a semi or non target for those not in varsity sports? Thanks!

Jamie Dimon was hired because he was family friends with Sandy Weill I'm pretty sure...would not assume that his trajectory is available to most people.

A friend of mine goes to Tufts and over the last two years, they have killed IB recruiting. The new Investment Banking club places 20-25 people at banks yearly, with a decent amount landing at top BB/EB. For a school that doesn’t have a Business school, it's starting to get a good presence.

Recently graduated from Tufts and can confirm that it placed well for myself (BB) and many of my peers, but it’s certainly still not what many would refer to as “target”. Certain teams/firms on the street love Tufts kids (most predominantly MS Cap Markets). A ton of Tufts alums at GS in their asset management division. Plenty of MM/EB have Tufts kids (Moelis, Guggenheim, Houlihan, etc). Barclays & Jefferies loves NESCAC kids and Barclays a decent inflow of Middlebury/Tufts people. CS used to have a decent chunk of Tufts kids as well. Therefore, I’d say it’s semi-target for certain firms while being completely non-target for others.

The road is more challenging than that of a target and of course you’re competing with them, but leveraging both Tufts network and also NESCAC network, will prove beneficial. People know Tufts and its caliber, even if it’s more well-known for pre-med and engineering.
