How much revenue per year do your MDs pull in gross? At my firm I recently learned that MDs in IB bring in around 9mm a year on a average (firm has over 100 MDs in IB so how that breaks down across groups I don't know). Wondering how this compares to other firms.

A lot of the public firms release that data. I think at MM shops its much lower that at BB. I know a few MM firms target above 2m per director and 3m per MD with 5m considered really good and 10m considered a rain maker.
Also the capital markets, I think MDs in the MM target roughly the same but the Rainmakers are much lower than their M&A counter parts. (5-7m considered Rainmaker in Capital markets)
Ah, I see. Thank you. Although on the high side since they are from past 12 months with deal flow across the firm insanely elevated, I knew the revenue would be higher than most. The firm I work at valued at one of the highest on a per head and per MD basis, so I figured it hold that the revenue would be higher.
yeah, EB/BBish firms are just going to have higher fees per head. I just know the MM numbers a little bit more, because they reals them. At my firm every MDs and Directors generated on average about $10m fees per head.
Update: I am an idiot. The figure I quoted includes all MDs and partners (don't know if there is really a meaningful difference in terms of revenue generation). Thought I should add for clarification.
