How much weight does a closed transaction have for an intern?
If an intern was involved in a transaction that closed ie full process from beginning to end, how much does that help for recruiting/on a resume?

A full process beginning to end takes much longer than 9 weeks
It can take more than 9 weeks, or it can take fewer than 9 weeks... it depends on the transaction.
If you’re including follow on offerings or debt offerings, sure. M&A? No
If it's longer than a 9 week internship?
Those aren’t very common in the US.
But to answer your question, I think this forum puts too much weight on “closed” deals. If you bring a process all the way to the finish line, but the final party has a hiccup that causes the deal to die right before your firm gets paid, your experience isn’t any less valuable.
Plenty of people will list deals on their resume that are ongoing or didn’t close. It’s definitely important that you have live deal experience but having a “closed” deal isn’t the most important aspect.
What if you’re staffed on a deal that closes but you barely did any work on it?What good is that experience to you? No good.
