How tf does one have kids if both parents are in IB?

Self explanatory…if both parents are in IB or PE or law or something that demands long hours, how tf do you raise a kid? Spend a ton on childcare and say fuck it? What if you want to be an involved parent? Learning of many associates/vps especially after doing b-school having kids and Im honestly just curious

The kid job shadows you and studies next to your desk, everyday is a SA internship for the little shit. Simple Maths:

Age 0-5: learning how to breathe, eat, and gains

5-10: A-levels/SAT

10-12: University

13-15: Analyst

15-17: Assoc

17-20: VP

20-22: ED

22-23: MD

23: CEO

I retire early, had him/her at 27, at 57, my child is a fortune 50 CEO. Also plus, by the time I have kids, they'd be hiring for 2030 class in 2024. I want my kid to be Jamie Dimon of his generation and Merge JPM, GS, and MS together and own the financial system and the day I die, create financial mayhem and collapse so that the whole world can mourne with him/her.

You want a kid, I want my kid, we are not the same.

The more senior you get, the closer IB hours get to fast-track corporate roles. An MD in FP&A or business level CFO at a bank isn't working any less hours. They just get paid a lot less

Baby-sitter during the day. Baby-sitter to cover when both are traveling/have client events.

Go home at 6. Spend every break /down time with kid and coordinate meeting schedules so that one parent is always covering. Occasionally "empower" associate or cancel client meeting if something comes up last minute (most clients and seniors have kids so they tend to be more understanding specifically for that excuse). Recognize that others who put in more hours will probably get paid more and may advance quicker. Find ways to add value beyond just time spent.

Assuming 9 hours a day for sleep + getting ready. 60 hours of work a week. Leaves you 40 hours a week with kid. Any social life will need to involve kid.
