How to deal with recruitment stress?

Hey all, I can only think about SA 26 recruiting these days and have been pretty stressed. For context - I'm a sophomore at a T10 so I fortunately do have the platform to make the most of. I've followed advice people gave me which was to create actionable goals and stick to them.

I try to coffee chat 1-2 people every day and study about an hour of technicals. Everything has been going well and I seem to be building good connections. However, I still can't help but feel stressed by the prospects of "not making it".

I obviously understand that IB is not some end all be all role, but I honestly just don't know what I want to do career wise if this doesn't work out. It'll also just be incredibly disappointing and I don't want to feel like I failed at something I worked so hard for. I'd obviously then try to lateral for FT/ within two years but that's just time I don't want to spend in a position I don't want.

Was wondering if people could share their perspectives about how they dealt with these feelings during recruitment. Thinking about getting a therapist but wanted to ask if anyone had any words of wisdom. Thanks!

Just join non-finance clubs / have hobbies so it's not your only thing. Don't let yourself start doom thinking about lateraling as a FT, that is literally 5 years away. At a top school, you just have to put some sort of effort in and you should be fine.

Luckily you'll pretty much know whether or not you landed IB by the end of sophomore year, so you have an entire year at that point to figure out other career options for junior summer
