How to Display your CFA knowledge without having written it/passing it?

I applied to this gig a while ago and just received an e-mail from them today asking if I could forward my proof of passing CFA 1.

Have a pretty big dilemma though. I studied for level 1 all throughout the first half of the year in attempts to actually write it in june but something unexpected happened. My grandfather past away days before the exam and the funeral was held on the day of the exam date.

It's not like I don't know the material like the back of my hand, just how can I convince an employer that I know my shit?

yea there seems to be a lack of communication. you should explain to them that you are a CFA Level 1 Candidate which is self-explanatory - you're going to sit for it in the future (if you are) otherwise you should just say that you didnt take it.

This is good advice. Maybe also state that you spent X amount of hours studying for it and are reasonably confident you can pass it.

I don't recommend it.....but there is a way lol.....

u COULD goto analystforum, where people post their passing scores, copypaste, and change it to your name.

But honestly, bad move lying about passing in the first place.

"I respect your courage for coming this far alone! However, you are still going to die!"

Don't lie. Ever. Your reputation equity is an incredibly important asset you should never impair. Tell them you went to your grandfather's funeral instead. Offer to explain you know the material, promise to take it in December, even offer to send them an obit if necessary. If that's not a good excuse for them, then their values are so screwed up you don't want to work for them.

honestly, there seems to be some sort of miscomunnication. just explain to the guy that you weren't able to sit for the exam and tell them you're a December candidate (if you actually are, of course).

they can judge whether or not you know your shit with a the technical interview.

To put it simply, there is no dilemma here. I'll reiterate what some of the other posters have wisely said- clear up the miscommunication with the employer. I imagine you in some way telegraphed that you were interested/planning to participate in the Chartered Financial Analyst program, which is likely why they are asking about confirmation. Explaining extenuating circumstances should not be a problem, especially if you are planning to continue at a later date. For the love of God, completely ignore what Lubu said about forgery- do not even let such thoughts cross your mind. Considering you have been studying Level 1 material, you already know about the "Ethics" section of the CFA.
