How useful are iPads for work. Especially ones with the detachable keyboard

Any of y’all use iPads for work? Wondering about the functionality/additional value-add they bring as a supplement to your main laptop. Especially if paired with a detachable keyboard

I don't use my iPad for work related. Others will use it for Zoom meetings so Zoom doesn't take up bandwidth on their laptops and it is nice for marking up a document. The key here is you probably won't be able to use either when you are an Analyst. You'll be expected to screenshare anything if you are the most junior which which is easier to do on your work laptop. You won't be marking up documents for somebody else to turn comments since you'll be the one turning comments. More value to your work if you are VP or Associate. I use my iPad to stream movies, TV shows, etc while I am working, also a good device for accessing your personal email since you can't on a work laptop.

Served as a better-than-anticipated substitute for printing-and-tying out during WFH. Super handy even now that we're back to to normal.

Only thing I'd do different - I'd go with the oversized iPad (rather than the 8.5 x 11 version). Thought it would be annoyingly big but that's not really the case.

I was saying that it was a solid substitute in lieu of printing during WFH - I don't have access to several $10k printers in my apartment vs status quo working out of the office during pre-covid (where I print out a copy of the deck in the office, tie it out, and toss in the garbage when I'm done).

Going through the physical act of tying numbers / marking off comments from seniors dramatically lowers the risk of sending up busted numbers or unturned comments to VP/D/MD.

Why not just buy the keyboard, it seems expensive to drop $99 for it when the keyboard is just $60 more with alot more functionality than the pencil
