How's Canadian school name on the Street? (Engineering)

Hey all,

The Canadian school would be 20k USD per year, while I'd be paying full price for Cornell if I get accepted.

Is Cornell's program, name, alumni network & job opportunities in the US worth the $$? Or am I better off saving the $$ and hustling from a Canadian school to land a job in the States?

Thanks.

If you get accepted into Cornell, definitely go. U of T is great in Canada but will not carry you quite as far as an Ivy League degree. Considering you want to work in the US, study in the US.

It's Harvey Mudd College in California. Great Silicon Valley feeder, but not much finance recruiting if at all. I'm trying to do engineering so I can keep my options open for either tech or finance. Obviously Cornell would be my first choice, but my Mudd chances are a lot higher since I'm a recruit.

I think in your case Harvey Mudd is a better choice than U of T. You could always do an MBA and break into banking that way.

Basically, Cornell gives you the option to get into either Finance/Silicon Valley, so all the best with that.
