Like many bulge brackets, strong deal flow but horrible culture. Have already had multiple 1Y analysts leave since starting 5 months ago.

I believe they are currently trying to recruit half of their first year class but running a really weird process. Probably scared they will lose their whole analyst class in less than 6 months

People didn’t leave because the culture or hours were materially worse than the rest of IBD — the turnover was, frankly, due to a mismatch in long-term interests. None of the analysts who left stayed in finance, which says more about personal career preferences than the group itself. You could argue that the CRG group placement that year attracted people who were more “consumer-focused” than  committed to IB

In terms of the actual work, the group has healthy deal flow, is very strong in several consumer sub-verticals, and has a solid mentorship and collaborative culture. Also heard heard that the lateral analysts they’ve brought in are strong

Def not the sweatiest group at MS
