I have a question

I am aware of the rampant ageism in IB and consulting because I plan to be done w school at age 34 with an interdisciplinary and maybe go for an MBA or MS in Finance) but does it exist in other industries (trading for energy companies, public accounting or corp finance). Let me know what your take is folks

Unfortunately there is just to high demand for entry into investment banking and not enough positions to accommodate everyone. I personally believe that the buy side, especially private equity, plays a significant role in this. Investment banking is a mere two-year stepping stone for most and this also drives a shitty overall culture. Seniors can treat analysts poorly because they know there gone in two years. This is the reality of the situation where those who want to make a career In banking either have to go the MBA to associate route or come in from college and eat shit for 2 years and grind your way up.
