I just had my “I don’t want to do banking anymore” realization

Title. Had this realization after dealing with the mind numbing work and psychopathic egos. I know we have a lot of posts shitting on banking here, and I don’t want this to be another one of those, but after my recent experiences I’ve come to the realization that I truly don’t give a fuck about any of the work I do, or the companies I cover. I’m tired of moving from transaction to transaction and fiscal quarter to fiscal quarter.

My question is: what do I do now? I’ve been looking into S&T roles and have a few calls set up. I feel like that aligns more with my interests, but I cant help but feel stupid for feeling the way that I do. I’m contemplating exchanging my relatively safe career trajectory for something that I’ve never done, but I know that if I don’t make the pivot I’ll regret never having tried it. This was more of a rant than a question. Wanted to get it off my chest and see if anyone else has felt the same way.
