I just took Credit Suisse assessment test, and I feel like trash

I applied for an off-cycle IB position and was invited for the online assessment test. I was slow in the numerical test. So, I tried to compensate for it by attempting a lot of questions in the verbal section and then got most of them wrong.

Quant: Total 18, attempted 7, correct 4 (average)

Verbal: Total 18, attempted 11, correct 5 (below average)

I am a non-native speaker but I don't think it's a valid excuse. What do you guys think? I thought I would receive the rejection letter right after the test.

any online test, f2f assessment center, or even interview can be good or bad. anyone can have a bad day or maybe you were just "off" on that test. the first time I did the Wonderlic test I thought I am the least smart person in the world. the second time the outcome was much better.

If you are not native in English it might have influenced the test, or it might not. practice more tests online before you interview again. It is more difficult to read/write English (under pressure) than to speak or understand. Mock interviews might help with that, let someone interview you and record yourself.

you should feel like trash for applying to cs in the first place

There was no mention of the group, it's was for a European office.

Don't listen to the person who said that the test doesn't matter. Either his friend was lying about how he did, or the guy who commented that is just trying to get rid of some competition.

I am at a super-target and know the person who ran recruiting last year and so did my friend. I got the interviews but the guy told my friend that HR told the guy that my friend couldn't advance to the interview stage because his test score disqualified him. Thus, please take the test seriously for those of you who haven't taken the test yet!

What is considered a good score just took the test not really sure what im meant to do with the information tbf.

Numerical: total: 18 attempted:16 correct:14

Verbal: total 18 attempted:14 correct:11

Listen, this test unlike what it presents itself as, is not a foolproof pure intelligence test.

Even the smartest kid will stumble when they do the test the first time. On your second time you will do much better as you will have known by then what to look out for etc.

I also flunked my first test badly, and after few practice, I can rock perfect score with time remaining no sweat. Don't worry about it.

From what I heard these tests have a limit where if you end up under it you'll be automatically dismissed by the system. If you performed over the line the actual resume + covert letter will decide if you go through to interviews. At least that's how it is in Sweden :) Don't be bummed out, internships are a numbers game and requires a strong mind. For off-cycles I applied to 8 banks this year, 7 of them didn't even give me an interview. The 8th one went super smooth and gave me an offer.

If I may ask, how much finance experience did you have prior to the internship offer you landed?

I got a score of 9/18 in verbal and a fantastic 18/18 in numerical. But my only finance-related experience is a 2-month investment banking tutorial program (not an actual internship). I put the figures for four different banking valuations I did on my CV. Do you think It Can Get MeI stand a chance of getting an offer once I admit in the interview that it was only an intensive investment banking tutorial program and not an internship (by the way, I am a medical doctor doing an online master's in accounting & Finance, also a CFA level 1 candidate)

I did that too, wasnt it the classic AON test with numerical and verbal reasoning that they use almost everywhere? If yes then there are looooooaads of prep material out there look into that, especially the numerical reasoning is actually important for the work you will do you want to be confident working with charts, tables etc.
