I love being the top analyst and don't want more responsibility but more of course still make career

I am a senior analyst at a top tier RX in Europe.

Its my second year here and i am very happy with what i do. I have a freakin great Associate and VP with who i work and constantly get the feedback that i am the top performing Analyst. I got some headhunters reaching out to me and my Assoc and VP telling me that i will get into talks next week about my role in the company. So i guess of course its about promoting to Associate or whatever.

The thing is now, i love being an Analyst. More specific, i love being the best Analyst and being "the first man" of the best Associate. Maybe to translate it in other words, i would love to be the first hire in a start-up and being the first and best man of the founder, rather than being a founder myself. Everytime there is some great feedback from a MD or from external partners and my Assoc refers to me and says i did it and take the flowers for it - i just feel like this is what i do best. I am best working for someone who is a high performer and relies on me blind without checking my work.

If i imagine me in a higher position where i have to delegate or structure complex buckets into smaller buckets i don't feel like this is what i would be good at.

So basically, i would love to do Analyst work for years but of course i want to earn more money at some point. What can i do? Is this normal?

I'm somewhat skeptical that you're a "top analyst" because this thread title is completely incoherent

Seconded. Sounds like OP is the analyst with the top ego.

Sounds like seeking out a chief of staff role at an early-stage company could be interesting. You can really shape that role any way you want, especially in the absence of a fully staffed c-suite, and become a mission critical resource for the CEO/founder(s) as it relates to building out the business.

This is what I was thinking. OP perhaps would flourish more in Research. At the Senior Level being a banker is about being a producer and a salesman. With Research your job is to be an Analyst, even at the senior level.
