Fellow Monkeys - I am currently an associate 1 at a middle market investment bank, over the past few years our shop has seen extremely slow deal flow, and I feel significantly behind my peers in banking / feel stuck in the firm that I am currently at.
Are other associates feeling the same / what are recommendations to get technical skills up to spec - note I am currently trying to lateral over to a BB to try and improve deal quality and stock for a hopeful VP move in GE / PE once the market improves.
Any thoughts on this / is anyone feeling the same?
In a similar situation - but I was in DCM for 2 years before moving to coverage, and didn’t really know how to model until I took some biws / m&i courses as an a3 and thought those were helpful for lateral interviews
But now just thinking of applying to bschool rather than lateraling again
