Ideal setup for travel?

I know there's been a few posts about this in the past, but wanted to see if anyone's found the ideal setup when working while traveling (going on a 4-7 night trip away from my work station). As much as I would love my 2 24 inch monitors to come with me, I just don't think it'll be worth the hassle of removing them from my mount, bubble wrapping them, checking a bag, and setting them up again in the hotel.

I've seen a few travel monitors on amazon that I like -- some of them are pretty much tablets that have a stand and connect via HDMI. They also have some monitors that latch on to the side of your laptop and connect the same way so you can tilt it and such (Sidetrack). I was leaning towards buying one of those tablet travel monitors, buying a foldable travel keyboard (number pad is essential), and just packing my mouse.

Would love to hear what the consensus is for people who travel and work often

I can very much advocate for additional travel monitors. The ones that are like tablets and connect with HDMI work well. I often travel with one and do not find it to be a huge hassle or super heavy to carry.

Something like this might work well for you: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/accessories-and-software/monitors/office…

The way I do it is basically find a place with an Ethernet outlet and two power outlets. I set up my laptop and monitor in total about 5 minutes, and just leave it in the hotel room. Basically don't think about it when it is set up there.
