I'm getting a 1% response rate from Stern alum, am I just bad?

I've sent over 70 emails in the past 4 days and have only had one response. Is it the season? Is it the alum? Or am I just so horribly bad at this. I heard Stern alum were unresponsive, but I never imagined it would be to this extent. Can anyone else comment on this?

Nah, it's just the holiday season (people may be working virtually) and don't want to respond to people. Also given students are on break I'd imagine analysts are getting spammed with outreaches.

I heard it was presumptuous to add your resume, is that true?

No you should 1000% include your resume. I truthfully cannot help someone who has a 3.0 GPA or a terribly formatted resume, I need to know that and know that your resume will be generally competitive at my bank before I talk to you. It's not a good use of anyone's time talking about the culture at my bank if I know for a fact you won't make it through resume screens. That is very likely why you're not getting responses

Echoing what others said, it's a combination of holiday season, everyone rushing to get networking in now, and Stern alum being pretty unresponsive compared to alumni at other schools.

Most likely not. By January 6th (the first Monday), most people will be back in office / checking their inboxes. Not cold messaging anyone until then.

I had a very different experience this week with my networking. I was able to schedule 4 calls (3 calls in January and 1 call this Monday). I'm not emailing / LinkedIn message anyone next week but will monitor my inbox.

The slowest time for me was the week before Thanksgiving. A lot of those alumni / contacts did not respond. The ones who did respond got back to me in early December.
