I'm noticing a pattern, do most of the top IB offers go to attractive chicks?
I'm a high school senior who will be entering a target this fall. I was poking around LinkedIn to see what sort of clubs, ECs, etc. incoming i-bankers did, and it seems pretty obvious the girls skew towards being very attractive. I then looked at other target colleges c/o 2018 and again, the incoming bankers feature many pretty females. I'm not doubting their GPA or whatever else, but it does make me look at my college's employment surveys a little differently. Is my inference wrong or is this pretty well known?
There is also the element of beauty corresponding to wealth due to the ability to invest in self-care.
Two women with identical features and figure whose fathers earn $50,000/year and $500,000/year are going to be very different in attractiveness. The second girl is going to have used luxury skin-care products all along and is going to know how to groom and coif herself way more fashionably.
When you think about how much social class matters in terms of exposure to the more prestigious career fields, plus how it affects people's ability to assimilate, you can see a clear correlation.
Put simply:
Wait until you hit the six-month mark in your analyst stint. All those girls you thought were pretty in their headshots are going to have serious mileage on them. The banking lifestyle is not friendly to the human body, and on top of that, there's less time to primp and luxuriate the way women do to continue to look good.
If you want to see legitimate hiring based on attractiveness, look through the S&T intern facebooks they hand out at the start of the internship or analyst programs. The girls comprise a literal roster of elite college athletics.
If you won't have a problem with her having to be out for an hour or two 2-4 nights a week after work for client events with older high-earning guys, dating a girl from a sales desk is a great option if you want a smart girl who went to a good school, is going to continue to invest in her looks, will earn a decent income, and won't have to pull unreasonable hours (60-70 a week).
