Incoming Analyst Training

I was wondering how well I should understand materials, such as the Macabus LBO short form model prior to starting full-time? I don't have training and am curious to what people usually learn in training/level of complexity and how it stacks up to something like the Macabus models? Thank you. Any recs on what to study? Am using Wall Street Prep currently and will be working in distressed investing. Wont be doing LBOs but am just curious to what people at EBs/BBs would be expected to know; more generally interested in building modeling knowledge.

Just be familiar with the basic understanding of valuation and logic behind the model will do you fine. Most of us learned from the job itself. Have the willingness to learn and the courage to ask questions (Google yourself first and avoid asking dumb questions), you will be fine.
