Industrial Placements and Spring Weeks instead of SI?

Wanted some advice. Instead of just summers, I'm thinking of applying to industrial placements as well as springs again by making it a 4 year course, saying I'll do a masters if need be. With my course, I have the option to do a placement if I'd like. (2nd year at Uni of Nottingham) Any thoughts on that? Obvs the only catch with applying to springs again is I'll have to do the placement year and apply for summers during the start of that, and ensure that the placement is actually something good and relevant

So the ideal pathway would look like springs in easter of 26. summer in 26. placement as 3rd year starts, and then another summer in 27 before starting my final year.

the only downside as of now I can think of with this plan is I don't get any good placements (some general finance placement in a company or audit etc.), but I have to do one anyway since I haven't formally applied to summer internships and big banks etc. I'm interested in high finance which is what I'll be applying to.

Another thought I have is that it's easier to take a year out now to do something, rather than in a few years time after I graduate etc. If someone has been through a similar process or has any thoughts I'm more than happy to hear them.
