Insight on Wells Fargo CIB - FIG?
Hi all, was wondering if anyone out there has thoughts on Wells Fargo CIB, namely corporate banking in the FIG group.
I’m currently a first year analyst in a niche product group at a MM IB firm (think project finance, structured finance, etc.). We lead deals, but I don’t really have an interest in being in this space long term and would like to exit to a role that’s more corporate focused.
Have a chance to potentially make the switch and wanted to know if this group at Wells has a strong trajectory, or if it would be a step down? Kind of unsure about the IB/CB distinction.
FIG is one of their top groups
Since the analyst position is specifically listed as corporate banking, would that be more of the RM track as opposed to transaction execution? I’m just worried about being moved out of IB.
How sweaty is it?
This role is not an IB role. Corporate banking (thus role) is a totally different job and focus.
Thanks, yeah I don’t quite want to exit IB yet. Have seen varying things about the pay at Wells CB too
It’s solid for 40-50 hours a week of work
