haha FYI, Im familiar with that that a 70 percent and above is a first degree, but all i wana know is what GPA in US is equivalent of that 70 percent?
Well I have exactly what you want but I aint gonna give you shit since you came across like an asshole in your first post.
You might want to look at this though cause i think its where you should be aiming for:
Mark: 44%
Grade: C-
GPA: 1.93
Goodluck
You shouldn't be converting anything even if applying for London internships. Put your GPA down as it is. HR know the differences.
never convert your own grades, HR gets pissed
for quick reference though, a 2:1 is usually a 3.2-3.7 a 1st is usually a 3.7+
the above conversions can vary by .1 or so.
Well according to LSE, "to be considered for admission to the Graduate School we require a bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.5 on a 4 point scale, or 4.3 on a 5 point scale or 85% overall." and it also states under their admissions that "the majority of students accepted into the programme have obtained first class degrees or the equivalent."
I would guess a first class degree is right round a 3.4 GPA...
no
You seem to be confused.
Required for consideration is a 2:1 for UK students, or a 3.5 for US students (implying some degree of equivalence between a 2:1 and a 3.5). And then it goes on to say the majority of students have first class degrees, which is obviously higher than a 2:1 / 3.5.
It's akin to HYPS saying on the admissions website for that a 3.0 is required to be considered for admission to the graduate school, however the majority of admitted students have a GPA of X or higher (obviously X is higher than 3.0).
Generally I would think of a first class degree as 3.75 to 4.0.
a 2:1 is a 3.2 to 3.3 at minimum level
LSE's 3.5 USA GPA is a mid-level 2:1.
