Interview Concerns

Hey guys,

I am currently in the middle of a lateral process for a MM bank in NY and in the last month or so, have completed multiple rounds of interviews with the entire team as well as a modelling case. I was introduced to the opportunity through an internal referral and have gotten great feedback during and after the interviews.

2 weeks ago, I was contacted by HR to provide relevant documents for work authorization so they can look over it with their immigration team (I am an international applicant and need visa sponsorship) as well as a list of professional references. I just found out yesterday that my references have not yet been contacted and when I sent out a follow-up to HR to confirm if the documents / references that I provided were sufficient, I didn't get a response back. I even followed-up with my referee but no response there as well. They have both been very responsive throughout the whole process so I am confused as to why they've suddenly gone radio silent. 

For those of you that have been through the lateral process recently, what do you make of this? I thought that I was in the final stages of the pre-offer phase but I am not so sure anymore...
