IntoCityPrep - A scam ?

IntoCityPrep propose paid solutions to get experience and education regarding IB/PE/etc...

Has anyone tried this so far?

I feel like it's a huge scam, I have received an Interview proposal after applying for a position promoted by them on LinkedIn, and realizes that I have to pay for this opportunity(?!).

It feels extremely wrong to pay for a position, but what if that could be a great opportunity?

Help a fella out!

I have been talking with ICP for several months now. The reason is that I am almost three years out of university and have yet to find a role that utilizes my skill set. So you can just imagine the glee I felt when I discovered this program. However, I have not found many reviews-aside from the ones they have published- and I, too, am beginning to think it is a scam.

I received their email too. But I don't want go further with them. I don't know why they can put so many positions on LinkedIn and other career web. I tried to find some real reviews but it seems like all are themselves fake comments

My friend went through the whole process and it was legit. He landed an internship at a long-only asset management company and got trained up. Then, he got hooked up with some other gigs and now he's killing it at Fidelity. The key is to do your own research and talk to them yourself. I'm not getting paid to say this, just want to help spread some info because there are so many bogus companies out there that give everyone else a bad name. Hit me up and I can link you with the Fidelity guy - maybe he can help you out too.

Let’s be honest, it’s a scam which takes advantage of people who can’t break into IB.

Paid Internships = Perfect

Unpaid Internships = Not ideal but a good plan B

Paid-for internships = absurd; if it’s paid for you don’t get there on merit and anybody can whack it on their CV if they have the cash

Avoid at all cost, like any other scam where some dude online who “used to be an equity trader at Goldman” and is selling courses or workshops on how to break into the industry.

On par with the fools who sell courses on Forex, drop shipping, affiliate marketing… don’t fall for it plz
