How hard is it to invest in stocks as an IB analyst? Do analysts have freedom to buy individual stocks or do they usually have to stick to index funds?

The other consideration beyond compliance restrictions is that, as a banking analyst, you simply won’t have the time, bandwidth, and energy to research stocks / bonds to invest in. Much better idea, in my humble opinion, to invest through mutual funds or index funds which I would imagine is permitted at your bank.
You all think you're some ot shots for selling one stock and making $10 huh? How about when you lose your job cuz you made that one play for the hot stock and made $50 but lost your career?
