Went to Georgetown, ignore title. Try to either transfer to SFS or MSB, possibly better if MSB. Internal transfers at Gtown are not hard if you have the GPA.

Generally SFS is perceived as "smarter" but you also have to go out of your way to prove that you're 1) interested in finance, 2) have a working knowledge of finance and accounting, and 3) have a rationale for why you're in the SFS as opposed to MSB if you want to take the business route.

There's a healthy amount of SFS kids in GCI/Zeeba/GPS/GUSIF/GUPREF etc. kind of finance clubs, and I feel they exit to EBs or top BBs at a greater rate than MSB kids, but it's mostly because of selection bias: 1) SFS kids are more likely to be hardos given they are in the SFS and 2) only a handful of people take the consulting or finance route out of SFS and aren't kind of "shooed in" by peer interest and pressure.

In the MSB, a higher GPA is much easier to attain after the curve disappeared, you won't have to explain yourself as much, and have access to some MSB-only resources. These go a much further way than the marginal benefit of "perceived as smart" you're going to get by being in the SFS.

Georgetown is the target. Econ and gov double major would suffice for demonstrating taking sufficiently hard courses. It's not gonna set you back when recruiting for IB and MBB. Think of it as more like a tick in the checkbox

But also think about it if you're econ and gov double major why not just do IECO in the SFS? Looking at the optics, it might come off as an interesting choice for me, although people don't really care as long as you have the GPA.

Imo what's more important at the end of the day are things like: 1) GPA, 2) Demonstrated interest, 3) Clubs and internships, 4) Being well spoken and put together, 5) Being a likable person, 6) Being smart, 7) Having the required knowledge, and 8) Networking

Not worth doing SFS if you wanna do finance unless you can take easier classes/actually like SFS material. Will say that some of the most "finance" kids are SFS though

Thanks for the feedback, would you say that a gov and Econ double major in the college of arts and sciences is still a target for MBB/ IB or is only MSB and SFS?

Echo the person above, it really doesn't matter... depends on what you like and can the best GPA in IMO. Just be a likeable person and don't be a sweat and you'll be fine
