Is my associate gay?

Ignore title. An1 at a lower BB. In a sweaty group where we have to wear suit and tie everyday. I've been getting good reviews so far, so everything is going well. Except for this one associate on my team. He's always hassling me about my suits. Like he'll make fun of me for them in front of VPs and shit. I'm FGLI, so I tend to be a thrifty guy. Since we're made to wear suits everyday, and I just can't stomach the idea of buying 5-6 expensive suits, I mostly wear department store suits (Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, etc.) Obviously they're not nice, tailored Italian suits, but they get the job done and look presentable. So can a mf get a break? I have one nice suit for important meetings, but I just don't understand why I'm being expected to put 700-1200 per suit for like a random Friday in the office where I'm barely even seeing my higher-ups. I'm just venting atp, but my God I could never imagine caring so much about another man's appearance. It's not like I'm coming in wearing a sparkly high school prom suit or something. Uptight ass mfs...

Best advice ive seen is to go to a good department store, try on suits till you know your size, then go online and buy used luxury suits like zegna.

Yeah sounds like your typical publicly-educated, no wealth/poor family dog.

Ultimately, these types of 'people' are pretty worthless anyway with no long term wealth; best move is to try and outmanoeuvre the insecure animal behind his back with other people/seniors in the team, playing on his insecurity and lack of self-worth.

It sounds like your associate’s comments are more about control or insecurity than anything else. Focus on wearing suits that are presentable and affordable. Tailoring department store or online suits can make them look sharp without spending thousands. Keep performing well and don’t let petty remarks affect you.
