Is there anybody that can help out

Hello, I am an undergraduate student who's trying to break into banking. I've been studying a lot of recommended items like BIWS, value investing, etc but I am having a hard time bringing it all together as I noticed that people around me who are aiming for the same industry are far more competent in terms of knowledge than I am (ie. able to answer very difficult technical questions). I was just wondering if anybody could suggest an ordered reading/learning list that I should follow in order to become more competitive. Thank you.

Example: (items in order to ensure that I am able to digest the following content) 1.) BIWS 2.) Intelligent Investor 3.) Security Analysis

If I interpreted your post correctly, I'd say that your approach to recruiting is not right. There is nothing to really 'digest' and there is no set 'order' that will help you do better than the next person. A lot of people miss the point when it comes to technical questions; they are not trying to throw you off, they are trying to see how much of the concepts you actually understand, and how you connect the dots and give an answer when they give you a question you don't know the answer to.

I would recommend forgetting all that other stuff you put up excluding BIWS. The intelligent investor and Security Analysis have nothing to do with investment banking, really. If you really want to read a book about IB I would recommend Rosenbaum & Pearl Guide to Investment Banking.

Try and go through the BIWS guides and understand the concepts. If something doesn't make sense to you do research online and master the fundamentals. That's the only way you'll be able to differentiate yourself from the next candidate and land a job.
