Whats ridiculous is UBS also delays the base increases.

For example a second year associate gets paid 150k base until end of august (where they are then bumped up to 175 base), end of year they pay a "make whole" payment in addition to bonuses for the 175k base that wasnt paid out from February (when they were promoted to second year associate) to August.

Keeping in mind that UBS has not bumped up their pay right now, a current second year associate at UBS could hop to BoA or any other bank that bumped base receive a 50k raise earning 200k base instantly (and bump up to 225k in february timeframe).
