Growing team but still like T2 level within JEFF

T0: Energy, Healthcare
T1: PCA, Industrials, LevFin, P&U
T2: RX, TMT, FIG
T3: Rest

Ignore my title - it’s quite outdated. I sit on the Buyside with a focus on distressed investing. I’ve worked with my fair share of advisors (across IB, Consulting, and Lawyers) and Jefferies is solid. They wouldn’t be my pick for the most important mandates, but they run a clean process and are more than capable.

This is not glaze. I said they are not a top RX IB. Your comment is indicative of the common downfall of this industry - over indexing “prestige” compared with actual results.

In my experience I’ve had decent interactions and have been satisfied with the processes run by the group. I’ve had better experiences with other “top” groups. However, from a client POV it’s not always worth paying top dollar for the top advisor if the overall outlook on the underlying business is grim or the investment is non-core.

This is not meant to be indicative of junior modeling skills or exits.

Seniors in the team are solid doesn’t mean it’s a solid shop. yeah they are more than ok but overall junior competency are concerning imo
