One of the busiest groups right now by far. I would think of them somewhat like restructuring's product group esp. if there are capital structure issues involved, which is always the case in bkruptcies. Other than being on restructuring assignments, they get to see balance sheet issues like the above poster said, and also weigh in whenever the industry teams need cap structure expertise. Above poster is right, that its not very client-facing - mostly execution as opposed to pitching, which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it, but usually good as a jr-banker. Pretty unique group on the street, relatively few layoffs and very good exit ops from what I heard from last year's analyst class. PM me for more specific info.

^^incorrect. there are a lot of quant types in CAPSAS. many PhD's. group does not execute any deals - they only pitch. they're ofcourse a front office group bc its IBD but the hours are not really like traditional ib. weekends maybe once or twice a month - at the junior level. bonus at jr level is similar to public finance groups -appx 80% of traditional ib.
