JPM Global Corporate Bank - how do they work?
As in the title - I would love to see some insights on how the work is being done by JPM GCB teams and how do they connect with guys from IB.
From what I understood, someone in the position of Vice President / Director in Global Corporate Bank (CIB division, ) is acting as a Relationship Manager for a specific portfolio of clients, usually composed of large corporates (i.e. with a yearly turnover of > USD 1bn) - is that correct?
What is not exactly clear to me is their daily scope of duties and separation from "typical" IB teams (M&A/ECM/DCM). How is they cooperation working on a daily basis?
I understand that the guy from GCB covers products such as RCF/Term Loans/Bridge Loans, FX and markets, cash management, trade finance, export finance, etc. and on the bank's side he is the main point of contact for the CFO or Treasury/Finance Director/Manager at the client's side. If the client is potentially interested in classical IB services, then Corp Banker is facilitating a contact with relevant IB team.
Is this how it works in practice? Or does it look a little different, though?
Any inside info welcome!
Yes you’re exactly right. That’s how it works, though sometimes seasoned IB MD’s have client connectivity

Your understanding is correct, except that you are working pretty closely with DCM too since the product also falls under GCB scorecard.
Source: work at JPM GCB
Would you be willing to shed some light on JPM CB comp, especially at the Analyst/Associate levels? And what is the typical bonus range?
Hi all, anyone has any input on the expected pay range for analyst / associate?
