JPM IBD Superday
Have a FT superday coming up for JPM at one of their top groups. Any insight on what it's like in terms of conversion stats, questions, etc? How much does networking help (or hurt if you didn't network) at this stage?
Would appreciate any and all feedback.
Is this IBD?
yes
SA or FT?
FT
Networking at JPM has been shady over the past years in the sense that you are technically discouraged to network as an analyst, but given that you have an upcoming SD, it hurt help to reach out to some contacts
What are technicals like at JPM?
Also curious
We had one "technical" interview and two behavioral interviews. The technicals covered DCFs, LBOs, accounting, and merger model acc/dil stuff
Did you network to get SD?
I did not
Are you lateraling to JPM? Also did you do a summer at a BB?
Also did not
Anyone familiar how technical is the superday for JP FT?
Apparently it's 2 behaviorals, 1 technical interview. Don't know how hard it is but seems like classic corporate finance, accounting, and valuation questions are all fair game
curious how heavy you've prepared for the technicals? And do you think it'll be a lot of calculations or just answering conceptual questions? noticed they said to have pen/paper, calc or excel, so any chance they make us do a model???
Damn, that's just luck of the draw. Crazy how much impact an interviewer and their style can have on your career. Keep ya head up
Same lol. They had to walk through and explain the thought process to me -- whatever, time to move on to other opportunities
Same here. Glad I am not the only one
LMAO same - it be like that sometimes though... Just gonna keep my eyes looking ahead
Not technically IB, but did anybody get final round for IB credit?
Do you guys know if everyone in the same super day room was interviewing for the same group? As for my interview, it went meh, tripped up on a technical which wasn’t very difficult
Was in the 10:35 superday and I think they said it was DI and HC in same waiting room.
Yup HC and DI. Looked like 10 people there so I'd guess 5 for HC and 5 for DI, but not sure
is it too late to get in the process?
In terms of timeline they said that they expect to have something back by the end of the week.
However, if we don't hear back by EOD, is it safe to assume we probably didn't get the offer?
^also curious, my anxiety can't handle the wait
If they are running SPDs later in the week, it makes sense why they'd want to wait until Friday. If not, maybe we'll hear back sooner
how did people feel about the M&C one?
Did you do a M&C SPD today? In the 10:35 room there were only people interviewing for DI and HC
if offers were to come out today, anyone know what time?
got an offer!
group?
which group
What group?
when did you get the offer? via call from interviewer or HR?
Anyone else hear back?
Haven’t heard back yet.
HR sent an email asking me to schedule 30 min to meet more people on the team later this week. Had superday yesterday for RE. Not sure if this means I’m on the fringe and they want more opinions of me??
How did this call end up going?
Nothing yet
Got an offer over phone
just now or earlier?
got it this afternoon
Did Goldman have super days yet?
Yes. They have one tomorrow
If we did the 10:35 SD yesterday and haven't heard back, we're likely waitlisted or out right?
Yes most likely
Can anyone give insight into how the SD was? What’s the best way to prep and what we’re the technicals like?
Did you find out who the interviewers were ahead of the SD?
damn got rocked in one interview but killed the other two, hoping for the best
best of luck bro
was your SD today? how far in advance did you get notified? thnx
yeah just finished it and I got the email last week
Not sure what group you were. They said there were three groups so hopefully less competition. I had two solid interviews but with more junior people. The last was fine. Hoping we find out sooner rather than later.
sent you a PM
Anyone know what the follow up call with additional team members is like? Does it mean I'm on the edge?
Has anybody heard back from yesterday’s SD?
I have a follow up call today
