Just hit the desk. VP not being responsive

Just graduated in Dec and hit the desk early as a 1st-year analyst at a BB in a regional office last week. Haven't gone through the official analyst training yet (which would be in July) and am still getting my tech/software set up.

Noticed that my VP isn't being as responsive. When I ping / email my VP about what I can help with, he sometimes doesn't reply or takes very long to reply.

Is that a bad sign of things to come or is that more normal in the beginning? Face to face interaction seem fine but especially when working from home / virtually, communication becomes more unresponsiveness / choppy.

Thanks for your reply! I ask every 1-2 days as I don't like to sit there and do nothing and have the team think negatively of me / that I'm lazy, etc.
