Laid off while on paternity leave / pregnant?

Fellow monkey at Citi got laid off during paternity leave. Is this legal? I think he took the redundancy package which means he can’t sue as far as I’m told.

I also heard a pregnant associate got laid off at MS in London in their last wave.

Does anyone know if there are any legal protections around this?

Exactly that's why you have to be aggressive in that moment BEFORE YOU SIGN package. From experience, You should be getting at least 1 year of severence pay
