Lateral off cycle superday timeline

Hey guys,

I just had an interview w an elite boutique for healthcare team last Thursday (pre-Easter) and am wondering what a realistic timeline is. Context wise it was an accelerated process, I got invited to superday before even completing first round interviews. Would assume the holiday and my nontraditional background (cap markets at a European bank) will require additional deliberation but realistically when should I expect to hear back (assuming it’s already on the later end/pointing to the downside) now

Based on the most helpful WSO content, timelines for hearing back after a superday can vary depending on the firm, team, and circumstances. However, here are some insights:

  1. Typical Timeline: Decisions are often made quickly after a superday, sometimes even the same day or within a few days. However, delays can occur due to holidays, internal deliberations, or logistical reasons.

  2. Factors to Consider:

    • Holiday Impact: Since your superday was pre-Easter, the holiday may have delayed decision-making as key decision-makers might have been out of office.
    • Nontraditional Background: As you mentioned, your background might require additional deliberation, which could extend the timeline.
  3. Realistic Expectation: Given the holiday and your unique circumstances, it wouldn't be unusual to hear back within 1-2 weeks post-superday. If it's already been longer than that, it might be worth following up with HR or your recruiter for an update.

Remember, timelines can vary widely, so patience and a polite follow-up are key!

In a very similar situation, but with a MM.

They told me to expect to hear something either early this week (which has already passed) or sometime next week. They also said they still had a few other super days to go through.

If I don’t hear back by EoD tomorrow, I will assume I’m dinged.

Will lyk if I hear back.

Best of luck.

I followed up with them on Monday and they said they're going to decide early next week since they are finishing up interviews. I guess I am still in the process but not their first choice.

What about you? Any updates?
