Well, it's hard to predict exactly what other banks might do, but it's not uncommon for trends to ripple through the industry. If one bank sees a need to tighten its belt, others might follow suit, especially if they're facing similar market conditions. However, it's also worth noting that each bank has its own unique circumstances and strategies, so what makes sense for one might not make sense for another.
Remember, while layoffs are certainly tough, they can sometimes open up new opportunities. For instance, if you recall from the context, when GS had layoffs, there were other teams and companies ready to hire those who were let go. So, keep your chin up and your resume polished, you never know what might come your way!

Stop it with these please
I am quitting my use of WSO because of this bot. So much bullshit buzzer words and yet zero answers. Broader reflection of the low quality information available in the web after generative AI was let lose. You either resist actively now or lazily accept this.
WallStreetOasis.com Patrick I hope you know better as a Williams alum to try and listen to feedback from people rather than use AI because "it's hot"
Of course open to feedback.
My question is in can the bot add value when nobody else is responding? In cases like this it's annoying or at worst, inaccurate, but there have also been many cases in the past few days (testing phase) where people found the responses genuinely helpful and would have gotten 0 responses from humans.
It's actually very similar to the previous monkey bot we've had for 5 years. That bot would suggest other threads to check out, but this new one actually attempts to answer the questions and gives citations from where it's pulling the (supposed) answers from...
Maybe step 1 is to wait longer with no response before the bot steps in...so maybe 6 hours with 0 responses instead of the current 2 hours?
Anything on UBS?
